Mynt IPO valuation in Quezon City, Philippines |
A look at the Mynt IPO price and GCash stock ticker |

In Quezon City, where everyday payments increasingly move through phones, Mynt’s public offering carries a familiar name: GCash.
The Mynt IPO price is P6.60 per share, sharply below an earlier maximum of P10.
That cut offers investors a lower entry price, but it does not automatically make the stock a bargain.
The Mynt IPO valuation still asks investors to pay for future growth, not just today’s earnings.
At roughly 24.6 times trailing earnings, the price demands careful attention to how Mynt makes money.
GCash has expanded beyond transfers and payments into lending, savings, investments and insurance.
For Quezon City residents and small merchants, that shift matters because a payment app can become a broader financial gateway.
Yet neighborhood convenience and investment value are two very different questions.
Lending could lift revenue, but missed repayments and rising credit costs could quickly weaken returns.
That risk deserves particular scrutiny as the company directs much of its proceeds from new shares toward credit expansion.
The base offering comprises up to 8.03 billion shares, including newly issued stock and shares sold by existing holders.
At the final price, the base transaction is worth about P53 billion.
Because existing shareholders are selling most of those shares, not all IPO proceeds will fund the business.
The lower price changes the entry point, not the need for discipline.
The GCash stock ticker is GCASH, the symbol planned for Mynt’s listing on the Philippine Stock Exchange.
Prospective buyers should distinguish that planned listing from an already tradable share.
A relatively limited public float could also affect trading conditions after the debut.
For local investors, the question is whether growth in financial services can outpace the risks that come with lending.
A familiar app is not a substitute for a sound investment case. |
